Leaders of the Marketing Revolution
The Ad Club of Boston's yearly symposium will always hold a special place in my heart. Last year when the e-mail campaign started I was new to officially working in marketing at Babson and registered myself for the event. I wanted to see what the big guys were doing so that I could bring that knowledge back to Babson and change the way we did things.
It was at that event that two things happened that changed my world forever. First, I sat in a room while a presenter showed the famous Lazy Sunday video which had been around and around the web for the past few weeks. Most of the people in the room had not seen it before and that shocked me. After a couple more presentations and curious looks I determined I needed to start a new media focused podcast which would become Managing the Gray months later.
The second thing that happened is that I met Joseph Jaffe for the first time. We hung out, chatted and had a good time. This would be the start of a friendship that would later lead to me becoming part of crayon.
Well, it's been a year now (seems longer) and the symposium is back with the title "The Leaders of the Marketing Revolution." It's happening on March 14-15th here in Boston. crayon is a sponsor and Joseph will be speaking along with a whole slew of other people that I can't wait to hear from.
I'll be attending as well. Not speaking, so I actually get to take it all in and meet people. Are you going? If so let me know. It's a very well done conference and getting to know the team a bit behind the scenes this year I found out just how hard they work.
I wonder if this year will change my life even more. I can't imagine that it will, but I'm also a firm believer that you never know where or who is going to change your life. It could happen at this conference or at the bagel shop any morning. That's part of the fun!
