Weird Time of Year
It is an interesting time of year. Right before Thanksgiving and the holiday rush and insanity that follows it. I LOVE the end of the year though. Being a big family guy, I love having people around, giving hugs and presents, sharing meals and seeing people that you don't always get to see. On Thanksgiving we'll have 15 people over for dinner and I can't wait. I LOVE to cook and cooking a big meal for a lot of people is something that I've always enjoyed. With a house full of family, the smells of turkey mixed with the thumps of football and Christmas carols.Wow, I can't wait!
But, right now is a weird time. Work gets busy, but people go on vacation. It's a strange mixture where from day to day till the end of they year you are never quite sure who will be around and what you'll need to do. Don't get me wrong, I've got plenty to do and there is always something new coming up which keeps it exciting. Not nearly as bad as when I worked for the government. Talk about people going away at the end of the year!
Yesterday I got to geek out a bit and put two stickers on my laptop. I had them both made by the amazing team at Sticker Giant. If you are looking to get stickers made go to them to get them done. They work with you and turn out an amazing product. As you can see we've now got them for The Advance Guard and I got some new ones made up with my logo. Nico will be proud.
I've been spending more time then I care neck deep in web testing over the past week or so. It is all important and good, but reminds me why I left IT to go into this field. Marcus Buckingham would certainly classify this as a weakness for me rather then a strength. I'm good at it, but it doesn't mean I like doing it. *grin*
Emily started play rehearsals last night and on top of swim lessons that is going to make for some late nights for that little girl. I have to keep an eye to make sure she does not get burnt out. That is the last thing I want to happen.
So, it is a weird time of year, but weird in a good way. At least I think so.
